About Between Therapies
Between Therapies was born from a simple but powerful observation:
the world has incredible research on how children learn, grow, and thrive, but most of it never crosses borders.
In Brazil, clinicians draw from approaches developed in the United States, England, France, and beyond. They combine Sensory Integration with DIR-Floortime, ABA with naturalistic play, a variety of therapies with NDBIs and more. The result is a richer, more complete picture of child development.
In my experience in the United States, these global conversations are not always easy to find, and every family and professional deserves access to them. Between Therapies exists to change that.
This is a space for families navigating early intervention, and for professionals who want to go deeper. A place where complex methodologies are explained in plain language, where science meets warmth, and where the best ideas from around the world finally find their way to the children who need them most.
Because great knowledge shouldn't stay behind a language barrier.

The creator
I am a Brazilian Occupational Therapist with a degree from the Universidade Federal de São Paulo and a Residency in Mental Health from the Universidade de São Paulo (among the most respected universities in Brazil). From the beginning, I was drawn to the complexity of human development, and that curiosity never left me.
After years of studying in big cities, I returned to my hometown in 2019 and found my true calling in Pediatric Occupational Therapy.
Life became full in the best way! I opened my own private practice, worked alongside incredible professionals, deepened my training in Ayres Sensory Integration through the University of Southern California, and was planning my wedding. Then, in a matter of weeks, everything changed. My husband received a proposal to relocate to the United States, and suddenly I was finishing dreams, starting new ones, organizing a wedding in two months, and preparing to move to another country: all at once.
We arrived in Upstate New York in February 2024. Four months later, with very basic English and a lot of courage, I started working as a Behavior Support Specialist in a preschool program for children with autism. It was challenging, but I have always believed we grow through challenges.
That experience opened a new door. To deepen my knowledge in Applied Behavior Analysis, I completed my RBT certification through the BACB in 2025. Driven by a dream to practice the full, compassionate, multidisciplinary approach I learned in Brazil, I enrolled in a Master's program in ABA at Florida Institute of Technology. I believe children deserve more than one lens.
Between Therapies was born from that journey. It grew from the distance between two countries, two languages, and two clinical worlds, and from the belief that the best ideas should reach every family, no matter where they come from. I am currently based in Rockford, IL, and I am very excited for what is coming.
